Firehouse 8 is proud to host the SF finale event for Grow Your Stache 2012 fundraiser for the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation Champ Camp for burn survivors. Tickets for the finale are limited. But donating to the cause is not:

Every fall, firefighters and their friends commit to growing their mustaches for six weeks. Competing for best mustache and most funds raised, we have raised over $85,000 in the past two years to help send burn survivors to Champ Camp, a residential camp put on by the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation…

Stephen C. Wagner

He is a fine artist whose work has shown in galleries and museums around the country, an educator, lecturer, and creator of SFHQ, a line of edgy, graphic prints of the City by the Bay.   Stephen’s art work has an uplifting, creative vibe that makes you feel good when you’re looking at it.  He has captured many of San Francisco’s finest qualities in his work: playful, gorgeous, and cool.

Unforgettable Vintage

Over several decades, I have amassed the most amazing collection of vintage jewelry components, trims and clothing articles of breathtaking beauty dating back to the 1800s. With a 30 year background in jewelry, accessory and clothing design, and this huge collection of goodies to work with, but no more retail stores to get in the way, I am now able to take the time to bring you one of a kind art to wear pieces, as well as timeless, ready to wear vintage fashion from the teens to the 40s…so Jazz babies, and Dames, enjoy ! Only the best…..

Maral Rapp Modern Vintage Mesh Works

All work is designed and handmade in San Francisco by Maral Rapp. I strive to create unique, evocative jewelry-re-engineering vintage and antique metal mesh purses into contemporary, wearable pieces. Fragments of a bygone era, the resulting works are rich with history yet decidedly modern-and as sustainable as they are chic..

The Weekend Store

The Weekend StoreOakland artisan Adjowah Brodie is the creative force behind The Weekend Store. Adjowah designs and creates her thoughtfully handmade line of recycled vintage accessories. She uses typewriter keys, watch parts, and many other clever reclaimed items to create truly unique and funky pieces.

Leslie Morgan

‘I love vintage postcards so I started this series with San Francisco based icons, threw in some PinUp girls and old outboard motor ads and a whimsical light hearted series developed.  All of the orginal collages are hand-cut, placed behind plexiglass and assemblage frames were then created for each piece.’ – Leslie Morgan.

Steven Hight

Taking photographs with a decrepit old camera from 1950 allows me to see things through the eyes of previous eras, sifting through the 1940s, 50s, 60s and 70s. My photographs depict scenes emphasized by a dramatic play of light and, more often than not, vintage subject matter. To me, things just seemed a lot more interesting to look at back then….

A lovefest at Firehouse 8 for proposition E

Politics sure has that slimy feeling. But it was a good day on Thursday with the city leaders and all and we did get a good crowd hanging around the front doors. If anyone has any pictures from the day please forward them on.
